Extreme Winter Conditions!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

CAUTION TO THOSE DRIVING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather in Northern Michigan can experience severe cold weather conditions during winter. We highly recommend dressing for extreme cold weather and taking your time when driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those taking a plane to Houghton, there is a chance your flight may be delayed due to weather conditions; This may cause you to miss some activities on Friday. And, again, DRESS FOR COLD WEATHER<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hotels and Rooming<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Students will be assigned two to a room, each room with two double beds, one bed per person. Participants may specify roommate preferences on the registration; otherwise, roommates will be assigned by the organizing committee. Your room assignments will be emailed to you prior to arrival. If you need to make alternative hotel arrangements or have any concerns, please email us at cu-ip-mtu-l@mtu.edu. Speakers will be assigned a room reservation by the site.  Non-undergraduate attendees, and chaperones may also be provided with a room reservation but will be responsible for the cost of the accommodation. Please contact us at cu-ip-mtu-l@mtu.edu to arrange accommodations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Travel Funds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We aim to make CU*iP accessible to everyone. All meals and accommodation during the conference are provided. You do not need to book or arrange accommodation on Friday or Saturday night.<\/strong> 
<\/em>Travel to the conference is usually paid for by your home department. In cases where your own department, or other sources, cannot cover the cost, there are travel funds available to support you. To receive travel support, please email cu-ip-mtu-l@mtu.edu with a letter from your department indicating they cannot cover your travel cost and a screenshot of travel itinerary and cost before [enter cut-off date here]. Travel costs that are not pre-approved may not be reimbursed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Meals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dinner will be provided Friday and Saturday and lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday. Any major dietary restrictions will be accommodated.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In Town Transportation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Shuttles from the hotels to campus will be provided. There is also a shuttle for the city of Houghton that has a stop at Walmart and campus. During the Mineral Museum tours, there will also be shuttles running.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
