Hi, my name is David and I am a fourth year undergraduate currently researching blazars at Michigan Tech. I joined the CU*iP organizing committee because I wanted to actively help others feel welcomed in the physics community.
Rose Harvey (She/They)
Recruitment Coordinator
My name is Rose and I am a
3rd Year Applied Physics undergraduate
. I’m passionate about my research in biophysics and have loved my experience as an undergrad at MTU. The reason I decided to join the CU*iP organizing committee was to grow my understanding of what it means to have an administrative role in organizing something as impactful as CU*iP, and because past conferences have helped me feel so welcome as a gender minority in physics.

Swafuva Varappillikudy Sulaiman (She/Her)
Lab Tour Coordinator
Hi, my name is Swafuva and I am a 2nd year PhD student studying Aerosol Physics and Instrumentation at Michigan Tech. I joined the CU*iP organizing committee because I am passionate about working for the physics community and inspiring more people to become interested in physics.
Ryan Munter (He/Him)
Food and Lodging Coordinator
Hi, my name is Ryan and I’m a fourth year PhD student studying material physics and quantum optics at Michigan Tech. I joined the CU*iP organizing committee because I strongly believe that everyone should feel welcomed and included in physics.
Dr Tiffany Lewis (She/her)
Guest Speaker Coordinator
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, working on the development of theories to describe particle energies in the most energetic, sustained sources in the universe – the jets of active galaxies. I also serve on the Steering Committee for the APS Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Alliance. I am the faculty point of contact for MTU’s Cu*IP.
Ian Norwood (They/Them)
Transportation Coordinator
My name is Ian and I am a 3rd year PhD student studying Aerosol Physics and Instrumentation at Michigan Tech.
